Here is an oil painting of a photograph that I took on a beach in Cornwall. It's one of the first oil paintings I've done!

Coral Bay Palms
I've just finished a painting for a present for my mum's birthday. It's based on a photograph that I took in Coral Bay, Cyprus last year, and is stretched across four different shade canvases.
Once they have been hung up, I will photograph them again properly to also include on my new website that I'm trying to create as an online portfolio. Here's the original photo too...
I do prefer the original colours in the photo, but changed them for the room that they are going to be hung up in.
So this is the first of, hopefully, more paintings this summer;

Beginning
After completing my art and design foundation degree, I now have a free summer where I want to keep up my creativity before going to university in September to study animation. So, I'm keeping a blog to document how I'm doing this and to publish the work that I'm creating. I am also currently working on my own website, which I hope will work as an online portfolio of all of my work. To begin the blog, I'm going to post my animation, 'Al-Fayyum Al-Lahun', that I created as part of my final major project. To view the blog that I used to document the process of this project go to; Tales of Magical Objects.
The animation was created by using shadow puppets cut out from paper with the stop-motion technique, and combining them with backgrounds and effects on Final Cut Pro.
Hope you enjoy it!
